Back in Michigan - Detroit Auto Show & Failing at axe throwing ...

My Michigan trip continued - Monday and Tuesday were packed with interesting meetings at Farmington Hills. I was really happy that everybody had time to join our girls happy hour on Tuesday at my favorite place (Lucy & the wolf). Shared some great appetizers & news from the last months!
They didn't had the Negroni (first time that happened...) but we had a great time nevertheless!

Wednesday was my first day at the Bosch booth at the Detroit Auto Show. As a colleague was with me, I was able to sneak out for an hour to take a look at the exhibition - as to be expected, a bunch of SUVs, SUVs & SUVs 😅.

Ok - found a Mustang and a Corvette as well...

The day ended with a happy hour with customer which was a great opportunity for networking & the shuttle organized by Bosch made traveling back to the office quite easy.
Thursday was a full day again at the booth with a lot of good meetings and discussions - I noticed this in the evening as I was so tired (and hungry) - I decided to skip all other plans, head over to nearby Aijshin for a hot udon and a spicy California roll & go to bed early.

Friday was dedicated to West Coast alignment meetings so went back to my old office in Plymouth for several meetings and a networking lunch.
The day & week ended with an evening with friends - I gave in to the guys' wishes 😉 and we went axe throwing at Novi. Despite me not being that bad the last time at Ferndale, I really failed this time - but had fun! Plus the drinks at Bar Louie afterwards helped to forget my defeat...

Before leaving on Saturday, I originally was planning to do a bit of last minute shopping but winter was in Michigan so I decided to head out to the airport quite early - not a bad idea as more then 30-40 miles per hour wasn't possible on the highway.
Sad to leave but hoping to have a chance to come back sooner than later!

Back in Michigan - Northville & Plymouth Ice Festival

Lucky me - I was able to go back to Michigan this January! Yes, it was cold as usual but still - I was happy to be back.
The trip started with two hours delay out of Frankfurt (guess they weren't as prepared for snow & de-icing as Detroit) so no time to go to the office this evening - headed directly to the hotel.
Saturday was mainly some preparation of my meetings the next week and my autoshow booth duty so getting more familiar with the presentation material a.s.o. ...
The huge breakfast was a good start (especially in front of the cosy fireplace) but in the afternoon, I was in the mood for some sushi so headed over to Koji for my favorite rolls. Northville was still fully illuminated and looked as pretty as always.

Sunday was up to a wonderful start as I was meeting friends for brunch at Anna's House! Great talks and a salmon breakfast bowl & I was prepared to head over to the Cobo Center for the NAIAS dry run.

Some hours later, on my way back to the hotel, I decided to do a quick stop at Plymouth and check out the ice festival. It was quite cold already so even though the festival was already coming to an end, a bunch of the sculptures were still standing and looked really beautiful - especially with the different lights and illuminated Christmas trees in the background.

I wasn't in the mood for a lonely dinner so just headed back to Novi - but really happy to have had the chance to catch a glimpse of the festival!
