A trip to the sea wouldn't be complete without some fresh fish.
I was quite hungry after having arrived from Bremen so for lunch on the first day, we went to a traditional fish restaurant close to the harbor. It was delicious!
Luckily this was also a perfect place to buy some fresh fish to cook at home - which was our plan for the evening - and there were four stores with a lot of variety to choose from plus some fishing vessels being unloaded.
We decided on a local catch called skrei which I never had before & my Dad did a great job in the evening, searing it in a pan.
For the next days, we went for a bit of variation with also getting redfish and hake, but I have to admit that skrei stayed my favorite.
For our last dinner, we visited the oldest fish restaurant in Cuxhaven, a traditional thatched house on the dike which served not only huge, but delicious portions. Although we both agreed my Dad is still better at searing the dinner :).
Besides the fish, I discovered a really cute coffee place with delicious cake & cappuccino which was nice choice on a rainy afternoon:
